It was sickening to watch him slobber his way through a huge mound of glazed and sticky ribs, while trying to focus on the bowl of ramen in front of you.
Grey snow feels like wet salt: fluid. Walking through it feels unnatural, as if driving a sled or carving paths through dense jungle.
I don’t think the Faroese understand that they attract tourists; I don’t think they see themselves as worthy. They are wrong.
Iceland: A land of wonder, story and song. Get yourself there, and don’t forget the hot dogs.
A university education does not / will not / can not imbue you with life lessons. None whatsoever: that’s not what it’s there for. A university is there for academic degrees and doffing you on the head.
The lights seem warmer, and the night is filled with glow. Being cocooned indoors is such a hyggeligt joy.
It is human to err. That is, we screw up, and that is all there is to it.
I’m not sure if I’ve shared this one with you before, but I am a rather bitter and angry person, and that bitterness sometimes spills over in to abject contempt.
Social protocol. They’re great things, aren’t they? They are so helpful for navigating our way through the vagaries of our impossibly complex day to day existences.
